Midnight. Deep in the nature. Far away from the city lights. It’s where complete darkness mantles the composition of nature. It’s at unique places. It’s where one old lamp disclosures the secret of night. It's a spark in the dark.
In summer 2013, I was visiting a flea market at the river side in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria. There, I saw this old lamp for sale. I asked the saleswoman, why there was still a price tag hanging down the lampshade, given that this was obviously an old lamp. She explained, that her uncle owned a shop in the village she came from. After he died, she got the keys to the shop, which was closed down already for many years. There she found the lamp, which wasn't sold for all those decades.
After never having the chance to shine, I wanted to give the lamp the chance to become something sepcial.
After finding the unique spots I got myself a generator and a jerrycan, loaded my car and waited till sundown. Then I drove to make the best shots of my life. In the forrest, at the river bank, in a young cornfield and in the high grown grass.
The complete picture series, consisting of all four pictures in 20x20cm, is available 25 times only.
In addition to that, on the occasion of my first vernissage on april 27th, the picture 'spark in the woods' will be up for sale also in 50x50cm. This special edition is available 10 times only.
Each picture is printed in high resolution on a quadratic format, premium quality matt photographic paper, which is laminated on an aluminum plate.
On the surface is a 3mm thick, non-reflecting acryl-glas plate to protect the pictures from dust and sunlight and to give the them an unique, elegant look. Each picture comes with a metallic hanger.
Please note, that the displayed pictures, in contrast to the printed pictures, have a web-optimiced, reduced quality.
